Our researchers are engaging with the next generation to develop a climate education strategy, giving young people the confidence and knowledge to tackle environmental challenges. They are developing innovative ways of creating inclusive urban spaces through new technologies. Through the Centre for Coastal Communities, they are advancing new approaches and transform thinking to address 21st-century challenges facing coastal communities.

Our city is one of the most deprived in the UK, with two areas among the most impoverished 1% of England. The University of Plymouth is determined to build on our role as an anchor institution for our city and wider region, we will ensure people from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to the health care, legal support, and essential services they need to thrive. This includes The Plymouth Law Clinic, which provides free legal support to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents.
